As I prepare to step into the seat of a news anchor my mind retraces back to the first day my pen touched the paper. In the first-grade year, my teacher assigned a creative writing assignment. She knew my ability to write was beyond my years. My articulation and descriptive words revealed a special gift. I was destined to be a storyteller. I am a news reporter.
Conducting the duties of a photojournalist during the Third Ward 2018 Juneteenth Parade in Houston, Texas. Isiah Carey of The Isiah Factor graced me with a photo op.
Mayor Sylvester Turner held his annual Juneteenth parade in the historical Third Ward.
The community was blessed with politicians, local businesses, schools, and entertainment.
As a journalist and reporter you never know who you may run into at a community parade. This day my luck struck me and all smiles graced this young face. The Louisiana native, Isiah Carey approached as the crowd grew louder.
Carey is an American television broadcast journalist and reporter.
He is well known for his show on FOX 26 Houston, “The Isiah Factor Uncensored.”
Needless to say, I had totally disregarded the idea of being on the job and had to grab a selfie.
By the look of the picture, he had the same mindset, won’t you think.
If you haven’t tuned into “The Isiah Factor Uncensored,” it’s a show like no other.
If you’re like me, grab a cup of tea, a blanket, and enjoy.
